Thailand’s annual fashion extravaganza, Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair (BIFF&BIL) will be organized this year by the Royal Thai Government’s Department of Export Promotion (DEP) in conjunction with the National Federation of Thai Textile Industries (NFTTI) during April 20 – 24, 2011 at the IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani. With a completely refreshed look and feel, the Bangkok International Fashion Fair 2011 aims to wow visitors within Asia and around the world.

The Bangkok International Fashion Fair 2011 willplay a significant role in providing a platform to combine the innovative and creative fashion design strengths of ASEAN. Through this integrated front, this year’s event will showcase ASEAN’s concerted strength to “Influence the World” as stated by its tagline.

Fashion goods produced in Thailand are regarded as some of the most creatively designed, high quality and reasonably priced in the world. Last year, while Thailand’s total export of textiles and garments/apparels recorded US$ 7,677 million, reflecting a healthy increase of 19.18% compared to 2009, export of leather luggage, bags and shoes contributed US$1,595 million to the country’s revenue and showed an 11.12% increase over 2009.

The Bangkok International Fashion Fair this year will be organized in a fair-in-fair concept focusing on six product categories namely, Textiles, Apparels, Leather goods, Fashion Accessories, Designers, and Machinery.

Apart from spectacular fashion shows at this years Bangkok International Fashion Fair, featuring Spring – Summer 2012 collections from renowned ASEAN brands and designers as well as creations from young and aspiring Thai designers throughout the event, highlights of the Bangkok International Fashion Fair 2011 will include the Japan Pavilion and Thai Tex Trend (T3) in the Textile Fair, a Lingerie and Sportswear Pavilions in the Apparels Fair, and the Designers’ Room in the Designers’ Fair, to name but a few. In addition, there will also be a Fashion & Textile Trend Forum organized and sponsored by NFTTI, and an informative display on the Source ASEAN Full Service Alliance (SAFSA), a commercial project initiated by the ASEAN textile industries under the ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX), which integrates the customer with the supplier.

The Bangkok International Fashion Fair is now regarded as ASEAN’s foremost sourcing and networking platform. Commanding 30,000 sq.m. of IMPACT’s Challenger Halls 2 and 3, local and overseas fashion professionals can enjoy sourcing and networking with over 1,000 fashion-related exhibitors during the trade days of April 20th – 22nd, while fashion bargain hunters can look forward to buying export-quality garments, leather goods and fashion accessories during April 23rd and 24th when the Bangkok International Fashion Fair 2011 will be open to the general public.
